I guess I should have explained the quote a little bit better. Our System 2 is usually not aware of what our System 1 does, especially when it comes to heuristics or biases. The problem is that System 2 is also our narrative self, so anything that happens at System 1’s level might not registered by our System 2 as a subjective experience.
